Portable & Temporary Hazardous Area & Industrial Lighting
Market leading, lightweight, high performance, LED lamps for safe use in harsh environments.
BME Nitech were tasked with the provision of Zone I/II hazardous area portable lighting to aid with the inspection of internal fuel lines and aerospace engine components.
Due to the nature of the potentially hazardous area this requires ATEX Zone I/II certified lights to carry out the essential maintenance where lighting and visibility is poor.
BME Nitech were tasked with the provision of industrial and Zone I/II hazardous area temporary linkable LED floodlights to assist the BME Services team in the inspection and surface preparation of both flight decks and hangar areas onboard the Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales aircraft carriers.
The client was working night-shift in tents where no lighting was available and no power points were in close proximity.
The client, BME Services, were undertaking a specialist coatings removal on the AUK Platform and required Zone I/II hazardous area portable LED lights to provide illumination to confined spaces and lay-down areas.
There was a lack of power supply for Zone I/II 110V temporary lights on the job, therefore portable rechargeable lights were required.
BME Nitech was tasked with the supply of Zone 0/I/II hazardous area intrinsically safe flashlights for offshore tooling containers.
The existing Zone 0/I/II flashlights were not ideal for the inspection tasks, due to their size, low operating times, low output, limited function, high cost and low IP rating.
BME Nitech were tasked by Royal Botanic Gardens Kew to provide event illumination for the lighting of pathways and exhibits using their rechargeable portable LED lights.
The client was using an ageing fleet of rechargeable portable CFL lights and wanted to replace these with durable, weather-resistant, high output, reliable, long service life LED lights.
BME Nitech were tasked with the provision of industrial and Zone 0/I/II hazardous area portable LED lighting for the illumination of extremely remote areas within the UK-wide rail network, where there is no localised power supply.
To overcome the lack of power supply for the provision of 110V/230V temporary LED lighting where essential inspection, maintenance and emergency repairs are needed to be carried out within harsh environmental conditions.
Tunnels along the network provide their own issues with the potentially hazardous areas created by the presence of naturally produced gasses in a confined space area.
The Guardian range is our portable hand carry unit with various output options including CFL and LED. Weighing less than 10kgs, this hand-held unit with long life rechargeable battery power makes it the ideal choice.
The Pioneer is our temporary LED 110v/230v floodlight that can be floor standing or has the option of various wall mounts including magnetic and scaffold attachment bracket.

BME Nitech is a customer focused business who talks to the client to get feedback on areas that can offer improvement to the Industry.
One of the major safety requirements in Industry is the need to walk to and from the worksite with one hand always on the hand rail when using stairs or access towers. The Guardian and Aurora portable light ranges allow the worker to carry the light comfortably in one hand due to the light being under 10kgs and the ergonomics of the handle.
With the battery able to provide up to 31 hours (industrial) and 16 hours (hazardous areas) of continual light, it is ideal for inspection or portable light projects as well as working in areas of confined space where having no cables removes trip hazards.
BME Nitech Industrial lights are designed to operate in harsh and demanding environmental conditions.
A lightweight, rechargeable, battery powered unit that provides an intense LED output. The unit is 8kgs and has a battery life of up to 31 hours continual use.
